MAYFEST ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL

MayFest is one of the longest running festivals in North Carolina and one of the best attended. Drawing visitors and vendors from across the region, it's the first chance to welcome in spring!

Over a hundred vendors line Main Street, representing the best in local and regional talent, including wood turned bowls, hand crafted wooden toys, one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry, boutique fashions, hand-knitted and crocheted items, quilts and uniquely designed crafts. If you can't find 5 things you MUST have, you're not trying!

The local Cub Scouts will host their annual district Pinewood Derby Race near First Baptist Church.

There will be plenty of activities for kids including PlayLand, a wide assortment of inflatables and a rock climbing wall, games, face painting and the Rutherfordton Fire Department obstacle course.

Doggie Kissing Booth sponsored by Brother Wolfe, Rutherford County Chapter, will occur from 10-11 AM and 1-2 PM.

No festival is complete without our fabulous food vendors! Relax on the courthouse lawn and indulge yourself with delicious barbecue, turkey legs and roasted corn, funnel cakes, deep fried oreos, kettle corn and everything in between. You certainly won't go home hungry!
10 AM - 4 PM, near Court Street & Library
The second annual car show will take place and is bound to excite any auto enthusiast featuring 100+ makes and models of cars, trucks, motorcycles and rat rods. Make sure you stick around for the awards ceremony!

11:00-1:00 Rutherford County Line band performs
1:00-1:30 Pet Contest sponsored by 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat.
From 10am-12:30pm at the Brother Wolf booth near the stage, sign your 4-legged fury
friend up for one of 3-categories and a chance to win a 1st place trophy or 2nd place
medal. Categories include- Cutest Pup, Best Costume and Terrific Pet Trick.

GEARS & GABLES - RIDE FOR HOUSING
Gears and Gables is an annual fundraising event for Rutherford Housing Partnership. The funds raised go toward urgent housing repairs needed in our community. The ride will feature a 24-mile, 41-mile and 62-mile route through the scenic backroads of Rutherford County and the Blueridge Foothills.
